Paros in Greece is among the most popular islands of Cyclades. Located in the heart of the Aegean Sea, Paros island is ideal for young people, romantic couples and families too.
The Parian traditional villages, particularly Naoussa, Parikia and Lefkes, are perfect samples of Cycladic architecture, with whitewashed sugar cube houses, paved streets and blue-domed churches. The beaches are famous for the exotic water and the golden sand. The beaches on the south eastern side, such as Golden Beach and New Golden Beach, are particularly popular for windsurfing. A nice day trip from the island is the small island of Antiparos, with the crystal beaches and the relaxing atmosphere. Other lovely beaches in Paros are Santa Maria, Kolymbithres and Parasporos.
Parikia is the capital and main harbour of the island, where most facilities can be found. On the northern side of Paros is Naoussa, a picturesque harbor town with Venetian architecture and romantic atmosphere. The small fishing port of Naoussa gets very lively at night as it is lined up with lounge bars, cafeterias and delicious fish taverns. Another village worth to visit in Lefkes, the old capital of the island, located just in the centre of Paros.
Apart from summer vacations, Paros gives great chances to experience other hobbies, such as trekking, horse riding and even yoga. As this island is located in the centre of Cyclades, holidays on Paros can be easily combined to holidays on another Greek island, and certainly a visit to Antiparos, a small island popular among campers.
