Villa Douro

OVERVIEW

Set high above the Douro Valley, Villa Douro offers an unforgettable stay surrounded by olive groves, terraced vineyards and sweeping views of the Douro River winding through the valley below. Guests can enjoy breakfast served daily on the terrace while taking in this breathtaking panorama, making it the perfect base for wine tasting and scenic river tours in one of Portugal’s most enchanting regions. As evening falls, the villa takes on a magical atmosphere, with the infinity pool beautifully illuminated and the Jacuzzi ceiling sparkling with tiny star like lights, while the distant villages twinkle across the valley.

Panoramic terraces invite relaxed al fresco dining, and a peaceful outdoor lounge set among vineyards and olive trees provides the perfect setting for a private wine tasting or simply unwinding with a book and a glass of Port wine. Breakfast is included daily, cook service is available on request, and longer stays also benefit from special experiences such as a local gastronomy meal, a visit and tasting at a traditional Quinta, a vineyard picnic and a 2 hour Rabelo boat cruise along the Douro.

ACCOMMODATION

The Upper level welcomes guests with an entrance hall and guest WC as well as 3 bedrooms. The well equipped kitchen with larder has a service door to the exterior and connects to the dining area and terrace, while a very spacious open plan dining and sitting room, with panoramic windows, a TV lounge area and fireplace, opens directly onto the terrace.

On the lower level the villa also features a spacious games room with a TV lounge area and fireplace, a fully equipped laundry room, a shower bathroom and a relaxing Jacuzzi as well as 1 bedroom.

• Bedroom 1 – Master Double bedroom suite with a shower room and double sinks, opening onto a private terrace with garden access to the pool area.
• Bedroom 2 –Double bedroom suite with a full bathroom and private terrace with garden access to the pool.

Lower Level

• Bedroom 4 - Double bedroom suite (1.60m x 2m bed) with showeroom (rain & handheld showers)

OUTSIDE

The villa features a free form infinity swimming pool with a decorative bridge, cascading water feature and Roman steps (11m x 4.40m, depth 1.45m), surrounded by sun loungers and shaded areas. Guests can also enjoy an al fresco dining terrace, a built-in barbecue and fire pit, along with private parking.
