Overview

Situated on an elevated 2.5-acre site with mature gardens, this elegant and spacious villa nestles into the hillside above Meia Praia beach on the eastern side of Lagos. After serving as a cherished family home for 40 years, this wonderful property is now available for rental.

Accommodation

The villa features a very large living and dining room that opens onto a dining terrace overlooking the pool and garden. Outside, multiple terraces offer various seating options, from small to large tables, comfortable seating, and occasional chairs. There's a gas barbecue, and the pool area is equipped with sun loungers and parasols.

The well-equipped kitchen includes two dishwashers, two fridges, a large electric oven, and a gas top range. The laundry room has two washing machines.

Bedrooms

The main house has four good-sized bedrooms, all air-conditioned with ocean views and doors leading to a terrace. There are two twin rooms with en-suite baths and showers, one of which includes a safe. Another twin bedroom is serviced by a bathroom off the hallway. The most spacious bedroom has a king-sized bed that can be separated into twins, a safe, and is serviced by a shower room accessed from the hallway. Additionally, there is a small single bedroom with air conditioning next to the spacious bedroom.

An adjoining cottage, available at an additional cost, can sleep up to four people. It has air conditioning in one bedroom, and both bedrooms are twins served by a shared bathroom. The cottage includes a small kitchenette and lounge area overlooking its own private terrace and courtyard. The cottage can only be reserved for additional guests and cannot be rented separately.

There is ample parking outside, with space for vehicles in two car parks.

The historic seafaring town of Lagos, at the heart of the Western Algarve, is sheltered by the Ponta da Piedade with its stunning rock formations and hidden caves, best explored by boat trip or coastal cliff walk. From here, Portugal's famous explorers set sail during the great age of discoveries. Today, Lagos is a lively and bustling town with an award-winning marina, many cafes, unique shops, bars, and superb quality restaurants, yet it retains the gentle atmosphere characteristic of Portugal, offering a delightful insight into Portuguese life.

Meia Praia beach is the largest beach in the Lagos region, with a 4km stretch of golden sand from Lagos Marina on the western side to the Odiáxere River mouth on the eastern side. Unlike other extensively developed tourist areas in the Algarve, Meia Praia maintains a low-key atmosphere with lovely beach cafes and restaurants along the edge. The western end is supervised by lifeguards during the summer, and beach loungers and parasols can be hired for the day. The area is popular for water sports, including windsurfing, kite surfing, and jet skiing, with equipment rental and lessons available.
