Accommodation

Hotel Martinhal Cascais: Famous, award-winning Lisbon architect João Paciencia has designed this fabulous hotel together with landscaping legend Francisco Cabral. With Martinhal’s sophisticated family touches, the result is designed and cosy, yet children-friendly at the same time!

Martinhal Cascais offer 68 hotel rooms and 4 hotel suites beautifully adapted for families. Each room benefits with private balconies or terraces and some have Italian designer bunk beds to accommodate children. Interconnecting rooms are also available. 

Grande deluxe villas: For those families looking for a longer stay or for a house with the comforts of a kitchen, then one of the 2-bedroom luxury villas are a perfect fit. These beautifully designed villas have the added amenities of a kitchen, a living room and a dining room.

There are 12 contemporary and stylish villas positioned right next to our Kids Clubhouse and green areas including the heated pool for families. They feature two spacious bedrooms upstairs, each of them with its own en-suite bathroom with shower room.

Dining

All restaurants are family friendly, featuring a dedicated children’s play area in “O Terraço” and a special children’s menu that includes a variety of fresh purees for babies.

O’Terraco: Located in the heart of the hotel, O Terraço is the perfect venue for the whole family. Here, guests can enjoy a wonderful buffet breakfast, as well as dinner featuring some typical Portuguese dishes created Executive Chef Daniel Andrade. O Terraço caters for all tastes with a kids’ corner to keep little ones entertained while parents can finish their cappuccinos in peace!

The Lounge Bar: Located in the main building, The Lounge Bar is the perfect lunch spot he perfect venue for the whole family. Indulge in decadent hot chocolate, healthy smoothies, cocktails, selection of creative beverages for kids and adults, as well as a Family Afternoon Tea experience at The Lounge Bar.

M Bar: M-Bar is located at the Kids Clubhouse and serves coffees, snacks and pastries throughout the day. This family coffee bar allows parents to relax and enjoy a refreshment whilst the little ones have fun in the kids clubs or playground, located in the same area. A Gelataria can also be found next to the M Bar, serving delicious ice-creams.

Swimming Pools

There are 3 pool areas dotted around the resort to ensure that guests can enjoy pool time with their kids in heated and unheated pools: the Pool Hangout (seasonal opening May-Sept), the indoor/ outdoor heated pool next to Finisterra Spa and the Kids Clubhouse pool (heated).

The whole culture surrounding Martinhal is family friendly and children are especially welcome.  A wide variety of complimentary services and creative activity programmes are on offer, adapted to the needs of the different age groups

Kids Clubhouse: In Martinhal Cascais, a superb kids’ clubhouse has been created, with over 700 square meters of play space covering the ages of 6 months to early teens where kids can be looked after by caring and responsible staff in a safe and secure space while parents can enjoy some time out. The various areas in the Kids Club have been created to interest and stimulate different age groups – conscious of the needs of babies up to teens, Martinhal provide a full range of toys, playthings, creative areas and entertainment – from playmats to Playstations! There is a charge for lunches and special paid activities.

Baby Sitting: If you prefer to have your children looked after in your villa or room, baby-sitting can be organised for any age from a few months old upon request.

Outdoor Playgrounds: In addition to supervised kids’club areas, there are several unsupervised playgrounds dotted all around the resort where parents can play with their kids.

Baby Concierge: Martinhal Resorts help provide hassle-free travelling with babies and small children! In addition to the Kids Clubhouse and baby-sitting facilities, they also offer the opportunity to pre-book baby equipment – from small items like door protectors, potties, bottle sterilisers & warmers, to bigger items like safety gates, baby cots and baby baths.

In resort activities:

Gym: You can find a well-equipped gymnasium at the Finisterra Spa. For relaxing moments after exercising the sauna, steam, Jacuzzi and sensation shower are conveniently located in the same area.

Fitness Classes: Includes HIIT training, Cross extreme, Power Fit classes, Yoga and Pilates

Cycling: Explore the beautiful coastline and region by bike! Located next to the Hotel reception is a Bike Station, where you can rent quality bikes and book guided tours. Cascais offers excellent cycling routes along the coast as well as within the city.

Finisterra Spa: With its special menu of treatments inspired by Voya and its origins, the spa adds an extra dimension of health and vitality to the guest experience. There is also a sauna, Jacuzzi and steam room to help guests relax before and after treatments.

Golf: Martinhal Cascais is located right in the middle of 2 championship golf courses – Quinta da Marinha and Oitavos – perfect for golfing families and groups.

Additional Leisure Activities:

With Cascais and Guincho beach only 5 minutes away and Estoril, Caracavelos and others further along the coast you can enjoy surf, bodyboard, SUP, sailing, windsurfing, diving, fishing and boat trips.

In addition, various land based activities can be organised, including tennis, horse riding, rock-climbing and hiking.

Recreation:

The Paula Rego “House of Stories” museum in Cascais, the Michelin star restaurant at Fortaleza do Guincho, bars in Cascais/ Estoril, a trip to the world heritage site in Sintra. Cascais is famous in history for having housed the summer residence of the Portuguese Royal Family in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Thus it is full of historical buildings and castles. Nearby Estoril is famous for having provided a sanctuary during World War II for those escaping the turmoil of war. Europe’s largest casino is located here and the Palacio de Estoril is said to have inspired Ian Fleming to write about that ever-famous character, James Bond.

Apart from in-resort dining, a large part of the Cascais experience is dining at one of the acclaimed restaurants on the coast in Cascais/ Estoril. Please enquire at our reception for a recommendation.
